After years of planning and preperation In 2009 we were granted rare access to explore and scout the Whole of far eastern China by motorcycle. In 2012 we explored exciting new routes taking us the entire length of China tip to toe. Motoexplorers now has in-depth knowledge and experience of how to organize the immense amount of permits and travel documents necessary for riding foreign motorcycles across China. 2012 we are again assisting independant motorcyclists to secure permissions from Ministry level in Beijing to enable our riders to be amongst the very few who will ever get to truely explore China by motorcycle.

Route & riding conditions
The southern stages of the silk Road is a more moderate ride than the much harder terrain encountered in central Kazakhstan.
Specific off-road experience is not essential - although a reasonable level of confidence on un-paved roads is required.
Bike type
Recommend Duel purpose ie; Yamaha 660 or 1200 Tenere, BMW GS, Suzuki 650 V-Storm.
Bikes with Wire wheels preferred but not essential.

We incorporate sections of the ancient Silk trading route with modern day travel Routes as we exchange cultures & experiences rather than Silk goods!
With 17 Countries to cross the logistics on these trips are immense. For China alone we have a raft of paperwork including clearance from ministry level in Beijing, entry permits for each Province, permission from Police & tourism authorities, army clearance, customs agents for entry & exit formalities as well as all hotel bookings, plus arranging a Chinese driving license for everyone once we arrive in China. |
